Hearing Aids for Veterans in Australia

If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident of 21 years or older and a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) client, you could be eligible for help with a range of hearing services, including free hearing test, hearing aids and aftercare appointments. These services are provided through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program, which is managed by the Office of Hearing Services (OHS) in the Department of Health.

With the OHS Voucher Program, you could be entitled to a free hearing assessment, a range of free or subsidized hearing aids and assistive listening devices, and government subsidies for annual battery and maintenance services.

You may also qualify for the DVA Tinnitus Program. Tinnitus is the perception of noise or ringing in the ears. Through this program, eligible veterans can receive hearing aids designed for tinnitus, as well as further tinnitus therapy if needed.
