Hearing Aids Now Compatible With iPhone

In a world of technology, there are more and more options for those who have disabilities and impairments. Apps and programs of all varieties have been developed for those who have developmental disabilities, deficits in speech and hearing and more.

Apple (manufacturer of the iPhone, iPod and iPad) has now introduced the technology on their products to allow direct connection to compatible hearing aids. The compatibility and link between the hearing aid and cell phone will allow for improved quality and audibility of incoming and outgoing phone calls, streamed music, videos and any other audio entertainment that can be accessed on the device.

Apple and hearing aid manufacturers have worked together to ensure that customers can personalise their phones to meet the presets and environmental needs that their hearing aids require, such as in noisy situations like restaurants, outdoors or shopping centres; and quieter environments such as at home, church or clubs. Apple has also ensured that if someone has more than one device, they will be able to pair their hearing aids to both and switch between the two devices when using either of them. For convenience, the hearing aid’s battery life will also be displayed for awareness.

Requirements for the Apple Device and operating system differs for each hearing aid manufacturer. Contact The Hearing Care Shop if you would like more information.
